Model SME 2025 strain meter is constructed from stainless steel tube housing and wire. The wire is centrally located in this tube and clamped with swaging technique on the side supports. The wire is pre-tensioned through a small spring. The side supports holds the tube freely on o-rings to provide a water proof assembly. Separate detachable plucking coil housing is used to monitor the data as and when required. The detachable coil has provision to fix it permanently on the gage assembly if required. A vibrating wire readout unit Model SME 2460-S is required to measure data direct in strain unit .The sensor can be easily fixed with epoxy or sometimes welded to steel structure to measure strain. To measure strain in concrete it is bonded with epoxy only
