Strain meter can be grouted and weldable in concrete structure or cemented with structure. These are available in different gage lengths as 125 mm, 150 mm. Other lengths are available on request. When external forces acts on strain meter flanges of specified gage length, the length of gage wire changes and consequently its resonant frequency. The SME 2460-S readout generates low voltage pluses to vibrate the wire to its natural frequency. The readout selects the frequency corresponding to the peak voltage generated being the resonant frequency of the wire. Readout has a capability to display the period, frequency or direct micro strain of wire as required on a bright LCD. Groutable strain meters are installed either directly by embedding in concrete or when these are to be installed in steel pipe. The rosette is used for installation in angle before embedment in the Dam.
